Lamtiar Nauli Sabrina Margareth Nababan

Analyst, Human Rights Programme

Lamtiar supports GSHR’s Human Rights Programme through contributions in research, written works, events, and public discussions on issues regarding human rights, with a specialised focus in Indonesia.

Since high school, she has been active in advocating together with the Indonesia Milk Tea Alliance (ID Milk Tea). With experience in research, media, and organisational leadership, she organised Seruan Muda Indonesia, a non-profit organisation, dedicated to advocating for human rights, democracy, and social justice. In this role, she also monitored demobilisation method by the state through repression. Her academic and personal interests centers at issues of human rights, democracy, military in politics, and the study of state repression.

Lamtiar recently obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from the Department of International Relations, Universitas Gadjah Mada, with her thesis focusing on comparative analysis on the paradox of repression towards secessionist movements in Catalonia and West Papua. Some relevant courses she took are: Introduction to Human Rights Studies, Introduction to Peace Studies, Conflict Analysis & Transformation, Global Social Movements, Military and Politics, Nonviolent Studies, and Peacebuilding.
